Mizan Willis, a Los Angeles native, is an 8th semester Music Therapy student at Berklee College of Music who brings with them, not only skill, but a deep knowledge of their cultural ancestry and spiritual foundation cultivated in their youth. Throughout their college career they were
featured in various shows including an artist residency featuring Sona Jobarteh, The Coming: written and performed by Dr. Daniel Black and directed by Professor Tia Fuller, and Ian Molinaro-Thompson’s senior showcase: unConventional Music. Mizan sustained a position on the Dean’s List for the latter half of their college career. They are the Spring 2020 recipient of the Berklee Music Therapy Social Justice Award and were most recently awarded the Spring 2021 Outstanding Academic Achievement award in Music Therapy. Mizan is a co-host of the first Berklee Music Therapy Podcast: “Real Talk With Alumni. To culminate their college experience, Mizan is currently in the process of applying to internships located in Los Angeles, Boston, and New York in order to receive a Board Certification in Music Therapy.
